Announcement of the death of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip.
It is with great sorrow that we have learned that Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh has died.
I am sure the residents of Skegness will join the Councillors and Officers of Skegness Town Council in remembering with great warmth and affection the many years of service given by the Duke.
Skegness Town Council will be working with East Lindsey District Council and others through this sad period and the Town Clerk will make further announcements on this page as information becomes available.
In accordance with public health advice, members of the public are asked to continue to follow the current Government coronavirus guidelines, particularly on avoiding meeting in large groups and on minimising travel, to keep themselves and others safe.
Members of the public may wish to consider making a donation to a charity of their choice, or one of The Duke of Edinburgh's Patronages in memory of His Royal Highness, instead of leaving floral tributes.
Should any member of the public wish to leave a floral tribute, they may do so around the band stand in Tower Gardens. Please be careful to stay safe and observe COVID regulations.
