Announcement of Resolution to Borrow

Announcement of Resolution to Borrow

At its meeting on 6th March 2019, the Council voted unanimously to apply to the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government to borrow £1,460,000 to fund the construction of a community building in Tower Gardens on the site of the former pavilion. The annual loan repayments will come to around £70,854 and will be funded from within the Council's budget by moving money from the Councils' existing business plan budget. Sound financial planning demonstrated in the five year business and financial plan has ensured the precept will not have to rise as a result of taking out the loan.

This represents the culmination of many months of work and it is hoped that approval will be forthcoming to enable the building work to start soon.

Full copies of the Business Plan and all relevant information is available on the Council's website Anyone requiring any clarifications or who has any views or opinions to feed in can email or telephone 01754 766113. Information and progress will also be posted via our social media accounts.
