What is a "Changing Places" Suite? What are your views on providing one in the new Pavilion building?

During our Pavilion Project Consultation, many residents have asked us, "what is a Changing Places Suite?"

A Changing Places toilet is a larger disabled toilet facility that meets the needs of people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, as well people with other physical disabilities such as spinal injuries, muscular dystrophy and multiple sclerosis as they often need extra equipment and space to allow them to use the toilets safely and comfortably.

A changing places toilet provides an adult size changing bench and hoist, with enough space for a disabled person and two carers.

We also hope to provide a shower.

Do you, or someone you know have a disability or any other special requirement? What are your views on providing a full changing places suite with hoist for the disabled in the new pavilion building?

Please contact us with your thoughts.
