Town Council - Structure
St Clements - Seacroft - Scarborough - Winthorpe
All Councillors are elected every 4 years, with the next Town Council and East Lindsey District Council elections due to be held in May 2011. There will be the opportunity to elect 5 representatives from each of the 4 wardsto Skegness Town Council and 2 representatives from each ward to East Lindsey District Council. There are also elections for 2 County Councillors every 4 years and the next elections for these positions will be in May 2009. The wards for these positions are separated into North and South Skegness. Skegness North is made up of
St Clements and Winthorpe wards and Skegness South is made up of Scarborough and Seacroft wards.
The business of the Town Council is made up of committees and working parties. There are two main committees, Management Committee and Planning Committee. There are also working groups as an extension of these committees that have been established to specifically deal with certain things.
Full Council meetings must ratify all decisions and recommendations before they become policy, and these are held each month with all Councillors serving.
