CommitteesThe Town CouncilSkegness Town Council comprises twenty elected Councillors representing the wards of St Clements, Seacroft, Scarborough and Winthorpe. All Councillors are elected every four years and five representatives are elected from each of the four wards. The business of the Town Council is carried out in Committees and these are reviewed annually in May. Major decisions are always taken by Full Council. Business and Resources CommitteeThe Business and Resources Committee deals with operational matters. It monitors the performance of the Council in delivering services and meeting obligations. It also reviews financial reports and risk management. Direction and Strategy CommitteeThe Direction and Strategy Committee reviews the long term plans of the Council making recommendations to Council on the vision and objectives. It also considers the development and adoption of new services and facilities. The Planning CommitteeThis Committee has delegated powers to comment on planning applications on behalf of the Council in its role as a consultee. The Committee meets every three weeks to enable the Council to meet deadlines for dealing with planning applications. Skegness is a busy town and this Committee deals with more that two hundred planning applications every year. |
