MAYOR OF SKEGNESS 2010 ~ 2011
Mayor's Charities: Skegness Lifeboat and Help for Heroes

I am very proud that I have once again been elected Mayor of Skegness. It is a great honour to represent the people of Skegness in this capacity again. Since my election my husband and Consort David and I have been very busy attending many engagements around the Town and meeting people from all walks of life.

The charities I have chosen for my Mayoral year are the Skegness Lifeboat and Help for Heroes. The Skegness Lifeboat, which is the second busiest in the North of England, is almost entirely manned by volunteers. The lifeboat relies on donations from the public to keep it going. Help for Heroes is focussing on creating Personnel Recovery Centres to be built across the country to help wounded service men and women with the final stage of their recuperation – whether it is to return to their unit or to civilian life.

If anyone would like to donate to my Mayoral charities or organise an event for their benefit please contact me.

Skegness faces many challenges in the current economic climate, but with exciting plans for the future we have reason to look forward to a busy and prosperous year. My Consort and I, with all the Town Councillors, will be working hard for all the residents of Skegness and striving to keep Skegness a town to be proud of.
